OpenStack consists in a system extension (“OpenStack™ Extension”) to place in the Extensions folder of your System folder and a stack (“OpenStack™ Tools Demo”) that allows you to use the provided Objects Library.
Before using the provided software you'll have to carefully read the license and agree with it.
This version is limited to a maximum of 3 objects installations per session. After 3 installations HyperCard will be automatically quit. You'll have to launch HyperCard in order to use the objects palette again.
Installing OpenStack‚Ñ¢:
Open the “Installer” software located on this disk.
After clicking on the “Continue…” button from the host page, click on the “Install” button to perform a standard installation of OpenStack™.
It's possible to perform a custom install by choosing "Custom install" in the local menu. You'll then have to select the files you want to have installed on your hard drive.
Memory allocation:
OpenStack allows you to easily use complex documents as multimedia documents for example. Those documents can contain pictures, movies, texts, OSA scripts (AppleScript, Frontier,…), colors (with ColorTools) and sounds. All this is only possible if the amount of memory allocated to HyperCard is adequate.
That's why you should always allocate from a minimum of 2500 Ko memory (3200Ko if run on a PowerMac) to 5 Mo (and even more on PowerMac when vitual memory is disabled) to HyperCard or HyperCard Player.
